Br. Jeffrey Pioquinto, SJ defends Action Research on Faculty Induction Program

On February 28, 2025, Br. Jeffrey U. Pioquinto, SJ, Principal of Ateneo de Zamboanga University Senior High School, defended his Action Research at the Admin Conference Room. His research, titled โ€œAteneo de Zamboanga Senior High School Induction Program: An Action Research to Enhance the Teaching Competencies of Newly Hired Faculty,โ€ aims to strengthen the induction process for newly hired teachers by systematically evaluating its effectiveness, identifying gaps, implementing targeted interventions, and developing a model for a
more comprehensive and sustainable program.

With the growing challenge of teacher turnover in private schools, this research is a vital step in ensuring that newly hired faculty receive the necessary training and support to excel in their roles. Beyond benefiting AdZU Senior High School, the study provides a framework that can help other institutions design more effective induction programs to enhance teacher’s professional growth.

This research endeavor aligns with the Research Agenda of AdZU, led by the University Research Office (URO) under the leadership of URO Director, Maโ€™am Cindy Quaile, with the support of Mr. Gerald Ebal, URO Research Associate, and Ms. Rigelin Grace Santos, URO Research Assistant.

Their commitment to research-driven policies and practices continues to elevate the quality of education and faculty development in the university.

Br. Jeffrey extends his gratitude to the esteemed panelists who provided valuable insights and feedback during his defense:

๐Ÿ”น Dr. Teresita G. Montaรฑo
๐Ÿ”น Dr. Robin A. De Los Reyes, Dean, School of Liberal Arts (SLA)
๐Ÿ”น Dr. Jocelyn D. Partosa, Dean, College of Science, Information Technology, and Engineering (CSITE)

As AdZU Senior High School continues to foster a culture of research and innovation, this milestone hopefully will serve as an inspiration for faculty and staff to engage in action research, ensuring that policies and programs are data-driven and responsive to the needs of the academic community.
